It's tournament bracket time again

Written by Adrian Holovaty on March 16, 2005

It's time once more for the NCAA basketball tournament, and that means two things:

  1. My site will get flooded with traffic because a two-year-old article on NCAA bracket interfaces is near the top of the Google search results for ncaa bracket.
  2. For the third year in a row, we at KUsports.com are offering customized, print-friendly PDF versions of brackets for free. Just fill out a bracket and click the button to get your PDF.

You should throw an AdSense banner up on the top of that page for the duration of the tournament to make a few bucks off of the flood of traffic. ;-)

Oooh, not a bad idea, Scott! Not a bad idea at all...

Adrian,

Nice implementation! That's way better than the interface I cooked up for our Final Four Fiasco contest.

Adrian,

I am from K.C. and a life-long Jayhawk fan. I love the LJWorld sites and I cannot keep from wondering why you guys did not include the seed rankings with your Bracket creator? Seems to me it would be much more usable. Keep up the great work.

Chris B: Thanks for the note! Our system certainly allows for putting the seed rankings in the bracket creator -- I guess our sports dudes just didn't put that info in. I'll ask 'em about it.
